Meet the Therapist

Priyashalini is the founder and lead therapist behind Blooming Crescent Therapy. Her work is rooted in an appreciation for the stories people carry, the patterns that shape them and the resilience people draw upon as they navigate life’s challenges.

Through both personal and professional experiences, her approach has come to value the importance of being witnessed, having one’s story honoured and creating space for healing, self-compassion and meaningful growth.

Therapeutic Approach

Our work is informed by evidence-based approaches and training in Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Attachment-Based approaches, Solution-Focused Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis, Somatic practices, Mindfulness-Based approaches, and Trauma-Informed Care.

Multidisciplinary Approach

Our work is guided by an eclectic, multidisciplinary perspective, bringing together knowledge from psychology, psychotherapy, physiology, nutrition, and behavioural sciences to better understand each person’s unique experiences.

We recognise that emotional wellbeing is shaped by many interconnected factors, including our relationships, life experiences, body, health, environment, and daily routines. This broader perspective allows therapy to remain thoughtful, collaborative, and tailored to what matters most for each individual, couple, or family.

In Her Own Words

Hi! You can call me Shalini and I'm glad you're here.

I’ve always been curious about people, their feelings, the stories they carry and the different ways they make sense of life. Both my personal journey and my work as a therapist have only deepened that curiosity.

I believe we already carry the capacity to heal and grow. Sometimes, all we need is the right support, a compassionate space and someone willing to walk alongside us. Having experienced therapy from both sides of the room both as a client and  as a therapist,  I respect the process and for every person who chooses to show up. It truly is a privilege to sit with people as they navigate their own journeys.

Outside the therapy room, you’ll probably find me taking care of my plants, making myself a cup of masala tea, listening to South Indian  music, or simply staying curious about the little things that make us human.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me.

Whether you’re considering therapy for the first time or returning after some time away, you’re warmly welcome here.
